My Love Story with Remy LaCroix

Photos by: Jeff Koga This was on Day 1 of Torn. I barely knew Remy or how deeply she would touch my life. This was also when I could still fit into my skinny jeans. My how life changes us!

This was Remy and I (and Tommy Pistol) a year later on set of The Temptation of Eve after a 16 hour day. She has a way with sleep creeping.

XBIZ 2014 – One Crazy Night

XBIZ was a whirlwind of awesome and crazy…but none so crazy as host, Jenna Jameson.

I love the people at XBIZ, but completely disagreed with their choice of Jameson as host. Not only has she bashed the adult industry to mainstream media, but she also doesn’t accurately represent the adult industry as it is today….although she did help perpetuate the myths of yesteryear by arriving under the influence of something. Regardless, I enjoyed the evening and was thrilled to see New Sensations’ features take home so many awards!

I arrived with the hottest date in the industry, Remy LaCroix, who went on to take home her SECOND Best Actress Win for The Temptation of Eve!

The beautiful, Riley Reid ended winning Best Supporting Actress for her portrayal of the conventionally, normal Nadia in The Submission of Emma Marx. This was the movie’s first, supporting actor win!

Tommy Pistol took home Best Supporting Actor for his role in The Temptation of Eve. He played Remy LaCroix’s quirky, supportive boyfriend and her ultimate grounding force.

And last but not least, The Temptation of Eve took home Best Screenplay…which I was overjoyed to receive, given Eve was one of my favorite scripts to date (the The Friend Zone still ranks as my favorite)…brought to life perfectly by my insanely perfect cast (Remy LaCroix, Xander Corvus, Tommy Pistol, Bailey Blue, India Summer).

It was a great evening all around with lots of spirited conversation!

Here’s to next year!

PVV Online Review of Eve

“Well, it appears we’ve reached that point – you know, that point when someone’s efforts are so good that you wonder “Where could they possibly go from here? Clearly only down…” but then you get to their next project and you’re completely taken aback by how re-amazed you are, just in a totally new direction.

Yeah… New Sensations’ The Temptation of Eve (2013) is like that.

The Open-Ended Movie – The Temptation of Eve

Photo by: Jeff Koga – Brandon or Danny? You decide.

About 17 years ago, I read a play by David Mamet called, Oleanna. Some of you may know it – or have seen a film version of this incredibly written masterpiece. What stood out to me, as a writer, was how adeptly Mamet created this storyline that left the reader to decide the characters’ true intentions. I was blown away by how well the story had been crafted without choosing one solid direction.

I mention Oleanna because it has effected so much of what I do now. More and more, I find myself striving to tell stories in which characters are multi-layered. Where these people aren’t one thing or another, but rather a myriad of many things left to the interpretation of the audience.

After The Temptation of Eve released, I received an overwhelming amount of emails from people both within the industry and outside of it, all conflicted (in a good way) over the story. In Mistress S’s excellent review of the film on Xander’s Xealots, many questions are asked, especially about whether the door of possibility is left open at the end.

As the writer, I am not sure that what I think and my own perception really matters. I left the story open to interpretation for the individual. All of us view the world through the eyes of our own life experience. Whereas one person might identify more with the choice of one man over another in this story – what is more telling isn’t what I wrote, but what you are writing in your mind as you watch it.

Just a thought…

Eve “Explores Unsettling Aspects of the Human Psyche”

Xander Corvus and Remy La Croix share a sweet hug for the camera, before delving back into the fucked up relationship of Brandon and Eve.

I’m so happy that The Temptation of Eve has people talking, thinking, and reacting. The latest review from GTXXXTREME, by the brilliant Alison R., makes some very thoughtful statements.

The opening paragraph of the review reads:

“Temptation. Deception. Betrayal. Secrecy. Self-control. In her latest film, The Temptation of Eve, writer/director Jacky St. James explores unsettling aspects of the human psyche. What do we allow ourselves to do in the name of pleasure? What happens when we must face the consequences of our actions? How much do we reveal about ourselves to those who are closest to us?”

Read the rest of the review here for Alison’s incredible reaction to a film that I wrote in the hopes of getting people thinking.
